I still really don't understand why people do this.

The people who would know what an AMG Mercedes is aren't fooled.

The people who don't know what an AMG Mercedes is don't care .

Even better when they don't even remove the regular badge when they should. I had an E36 parked by me when I came out from Walmart once, had an M badge right under "328i".

I saw a sweet Caddy V8 STS4 on cars.com recently and was like awesome I may try and work some stuff out to get this car!

Wait a minute?

Why does the listing say Front Wheel Drive when the back clearly has an STS4 badge. I don't want it in FWD.

VIN search - FWD

What?

Oooooo, car is salvage/rebuilt title and they must have just got whatever STS trunk lid they could find not realizing what the 4 meant (or not caring)

I was suspicious of the title anyhow, it was way too cheap. like 4-5 grand less than similar ones.

I just saw the new Mercedes-Benz AMG 4Matic Bluetec. It had an AMG banner on the windshield too.

It was a GLK250 4Matic. The owner tried to pretend he was driving an AMG car and even removed the GLK badge.
